Get to know Kristen Zihmer
A Heart for Service
Kristen is a married mother of two children, both enrolled in Carroll County public schools, living in her hometown of Westminster. Kristen is a Certified Senior Advisor® and owner of Windchimes LLC, a senior living consulting agency. As a business owner, she understands both hard work and budgets, and is driven to produce measurable results.

Kristen graduated from Salisbury University on Maryland’s Eastern Shore, and built upon that foundation with a Certificate on Aging from Johns Hopkins University. She is currently enrolled in the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce's Leadership Carroll class of 2024.
​
Faith and service are important elements of Kristen's life. She and her husband are active within their church and greater community.
Kristen is the President of Cranberry Station Elementary's PTA as well as a member of Carroll County Public School's Curriculum Council. She is the President of the Board of Directors for the Senior Provider Information Network, and sits on committees for The Partnership for a Healthier Carroll and Bridging Life's Taste of Carroll.

Kristen previously served on the Executive Board of Habitat for Humanity of Carroll County, was the Chair of the 2020 Alzheimer's Association Longest Day: Westminster Walk, sat on the Carroll County Youth Service Bureau's Philanthropy Committee, and has been the recipient of The Arc of Carroll County's Volunteer of the Year Award.

Kristen is an active member of several business organizations including Carroll County Chamber of Commerce, South Carroll Business Association and North Carroll Business Alliance. She also frequents both the Agribusiness and Taneytown Business Breakfasts.

Kristen is passionate about education, community, and public service. She ardently supports family and community values as a staple for education. Keeping Carroll County among the best places in the nation to start and raise a family, prepare for, and ultimately pursue a career are her top priorities. Kristen will always stand up for Carroll County!
